Main directions / Development of technologies and technical facilities / Sampling / DIP This rather simple and light device is equipped with an electric pump system and double core sampler the length of which may vary from 2 m up to 10 m; it has well-drilling scrubbing for sampling, I-IV categories of strength, for: mud, clays, sands, pebble stone, connecting rocks.
The installation was used several times by the Oceanology Institute, the Russian Academy of Sciences, in the Barents and Pechora Seas as well as during 2002 – 2003 trips of the research ship Professor Logachev in the Atlantic Ocean. At five sampling stations in the course of the trip №22 of the research ship Professor Logachev were collected five low breaking samples of deposits with inter-bed crusts and sulphides of 0.5 m up to 3.2 m; the bed of the base rock was fixed below the bed of sulphides. In the next 23rd trip of the research ship Professor Logachev the vibro impact sampler DIP-Ocean was used for sampling fine inter-bedded sands and pebbles as well as pebbles with fraction sizes within 10 – 70 mm.. Samples collected by the DIP-Ocean sampler DIP-Shelf sampler is a more simple and less costly analog of the DIP-Ocean. Its core receiver is up to 10 m long, sample diameter is 127 - 146 mm. DIP-shelf is used in geological exploration and engineering-geological work in shelf areas. In sand sampling the system is practically beyond competition. |
