The state-of-art equipment, work
techniques, expertise of the personnel allow Sevmorgeo to work in different
geographical conditions using both on-land and marine seismic system elements
as well as to efficiently plan its work and express-process field
materials; besides it allows geodetic correlation of received material.
Work techniques allow to:

consideration to a geological task and concrete regional specifics.

having the depth under 10 - 15 m up to shore line;
- in dehydrating regions;
- on land surface.

The software allows design
of reception and drive lines with regard to topography of the terrain including
exclusion areas such as residential zones. In doing so it is possible to use
topographic and aerial photos as a base. Multiplicity of survey data is
calculated stemming from actual survey grid. Tools used for shooting simulation
allow simulation of the survey process and its optimization by minimizing costs
and impact on the environment.
Modern equipment allows
working in shallow waters, swamps, lakes, rivers, dehydrating areas and other
terrain conditions typical of transit zones in the temperature range from
+ 40C to - 80С. The
equipment is successfully used on land.
The work technique allowing
simultaneous setting of new reception lines, shooting at previously installed
lines and removal of the proved lines also ensures continuous survey process.
Using different excitation sources, such as pneumatic sources, dynamite or
vibroseis, gives an opportunity for getting high quality seismic material from
different mediums.

The standard of design work
and work techniques, operation of the state-of-art equipment require highly
qualified labor that means people possessing adequate skills and expertise to
perform seismic exploration. The Sevmorgeo staff consists of experts. Leading experts completed a course of training in operation and
maintenance of the equipment systems organized by the equipment manufacturer in
Houston, U.S.A.
Sevmorgeo has successfully
performed seismic exploration in all kinds of geographic conditions, such as:
1. 1998 – Barents
Sea, Varndei peninsular. Seismic prospecting Multi-Channel Seismic (MCS) 3D on the territory of 48 sq. km. The work was done jointly with the
State Unitarian Company Sevmorneftgeophysika under commission from the Gasflot
Limited.
2. 1999-2000 -
Seismic prospecting MCS 2D in the north of the Caspian Sea;
total of 600 running km. The work was commissioned by RF Ministry for Natural
Resources and the joint stock company ОАО Kalmneft.
3. 2001 - Seismic
prospecting MCS 2D in the Ob Bay; total volume
600 running km. Commissioned by RF Ministry for Natural Resources.
- Seismic
prospecting MCS 3D on the Volgograd water storage
reservoir; total volume 30 sq. km. under commission from the joint stock
company Saratovneftegas.
- Seismic
prospecting MCS 2D on the Volgograd water storage
reservoir under commission from the Ministry for Natural Resources; total
volume 500 running km.
4. 2002 - Seismic prospecting MCS 2D on the Volgograd water storage reservoir;
