Sevmorgeo performs
remote sensing with the help of the hardware system RIFT 3 (AMK- Apparatus
Methodological Complex). 
AMK Rift 3 is designated
to:
Perfom deep water geological
prospecting during exploration and evaluation
stages.

AMK Rift 3 ensures profile
electrical survey by natural field techniques (EP), vertical electric sounding
(VES) as well as geochemical and geophysical surveys with measurement of
hydrogen indicatiors (pH), sulfur (pS), sodium (pNa), reductive-oxidative potential
(Eh).
AMK Rift 3 is used in two
modifications (potentiometric measurements or VES) in accordance with the set
geological tasks.
AMK Rift 3 can be used at
the following work stages:
Major tasks solved with the
help of the AMK:
During the exploration
stage:
- Identification of zones with bad values of
hydrochemical parameters caused by intensive hydrothermal activity (pH,
pS, pNa, Eh) and directly by ore appearance in deep water (natural electrical field);
- Localization of deep
water ore bodies including relics.
During the exploration and
evaluation stage:
- Mapping of ore body boundaries and
identification of body thickness using the VES technique.
The AMK Rift 3 is a towing
deep-water telemetric system working in the towing mode at a permanent
depth or flowing underwater topography.
AMK is a module-based
system; each module is a complete system designed to carry out a certain set of
functions. Module sets can be different depending on survey specifics.

Sea depth for work
performance – up to 5000 m, vessel speed is 1 knot.
Data control correlation:
- During the exploration survey stage – with
the SPN Sigma in the “short” wave
mode (in the course of areal profile surveys) or in the system of bottom
beacon-responents;
- In the course of GPS ore bodies’
localization;
During the exploration and evaluation stage - in
the system of bottom beacon-responents (correlation is possible in the “short” wave
mode).
