AMK RIFT 3 during the exploration stage of survey:
Application:
- In profile surveying (scale 1:10000) with EP recording (two components) and geochemical parameters; the work goal being to search for zones of abnormal values of measured parameters caused by intensive geothermal activity (parameters pH, pS, pNa, Eh) and directly linked with GPS ?? ore appearances (natural electric field);

In 1993 with АМК RIFT used for abnormalities of geochemical parameters they discovered the ore field Logachev 1.
In 2003 (trip 22 of the research vessel Professor Logachev) there were recorded hydro chemical abnormalities and EP abnormalities in the ore appearance at 13°N of the Middle Atlantic Ridge.

Processing of profiling data can be done directly on board a vessel (ore field Logachev 1, 2004)
Mapping of anomalous zones of recorded parameters (ore appearance at 13°N of the Middle Atlantic Ridge, 2003).
- EP profiling (vertical component is recorded) along a special grid of profiles for GPS location of ore bodies including relics.
EP vertical component and hydro chemical parameters are recorded.
Profile network configuration depends on a survey goal; it is possible to work on bottom sites with complex topography.
