Manned submersible (OPA)
"Consul" is being built by the State Company Admiraltejskie Verfi to
the design of the St. Petersburg company Malakhit.
Client - Sevmorgeo (Russia’s Ministry for Natural Resources). |
- Designed for performance of a wide range
of underseas exploration, work at ocean depths and on shelf in places
of mineral pool discoveries as well as for underseas engineering,
emergency, rescue and special-type work including special work on sunken
objects and hazardous burials.
- Allows work performance at the depth of up to
6000 m.

ON-BOARD EQUIPMENT:
The research equipment
system allows collection of bottom deposit samples by manipulator boring
assembly, sea water samples by bathometer, measure geophysical seabed
parameters as well as hydro physical and hydro chemical characteristics of the
marine environment, tele, stereo and photo recording of underwater objects and
works.
Computer-aided system for collection and processing
of measured parameters together with sonar data and high precision navigation
data correlation allows to get one whole package of interrelated data that can
be immediately evaluated under the water; this is what makes the Manned Submersible Consul
